Help Car Not Running Right At All

Recommended Posts

daveo

ok guys i need your help

car is running really poor as below:

£20 (approx 16ltrs) is only getting me 100mi and thats scraping the tank!!

its now misfiring if i put anything over half throttle. - but only sometimes, othertimes it seems ok

car seems sluggish to accelarate

idle seems to be high one moment and normal the next - but not as if its hunting.

almost the entire ignition system is new - and i dont think the issue lies here.

i'm hoping its just a tuning issue.

i can't keep running the car like this!!

I'd recheck the ignition system. Have you recently washed it? Could there be any water in the plug holes or in the dizzy cap? Mine misfires under load if it gets damp.

Check the air filter and i'd certainly think about cleaning the AFM.

have you got the multimeter out and looked at the afm? it's fairly simple to do.. also have you at any time removed any brackets from the inlet manifold.

also do a search on water temp sensor.
