Xu5ja Throttle Bodies

Recommended Posts

I am planning on building a new engine for my rally car.It is going to be a 1600cc 8 valve as that is the class that I am running in.I am wondering are there any reasonably priced throttle bodies around? Anyone used anything like the toyota levin throttle bodies? I seen these AT Power throttle bodies and thought they looked good, anyone know much about them? AT Power Throttle Bodies

Thanks,

Anthony

Anyone any suggestions?

Would I be maybe better off going with carbs? Only I don't like the idea of them having to be adjusted all the time.

not done it myself, but people have used bike throttlebodies in the past. you could get a local manuafcture to knock you up a manifold, would proberbly work out a lot cheaper than jenveys etc

if you can get hold of some bodies like R1 or GSXR1000 items then Colin Satchel can do you an inlet manifold and linkages to suit, not sure what his lead time is currently.

this will allow you to have a decent inlet tract length and secure fixing (no joiners etc) and a superb throttle quadrant perfectly suited to the 205's pedal travel.

Maybe I will look into the bike bodies,or i might be better off just saving and going for the jenvey throttle bodies.

@Baz from the link you added it does'nt look like the AT power bodies ahave any real gains over others really and from looking at them more I don't think they would really be any cheaper than jenveys.

jenveys will work, and yes the manifold will probably fit fine, but its not an ideal length as its just an "8v XU manifold" not a "8v xu in a 205 with a certain tract length to suit usage and tune of the engine"

and if you go with Colin Satchel's setup, you'll get it ready to bolt straight on, all you'll need to do is fit your filter backplate and cut your throttle cable to length.
