Recommended Posts

Mate at work has a set off 266mm, calipers, with discs, yokes, etc,

i have a 1991 (j) with 247mm's on it, he only wants £50 quid for it all, anyone think i should go for them?

just need to buy a set of pads, probably go EBC as i get them cheap

on a 1.6 I'd just get a decent set of pads and make sure the sliders are healthy

its not gonna be a 1.6 for long, going 2.0 8v turbo at somepoint, my discs at the mo are warped, so means new pads and discs anyway

depends which calliper it is then, it would be wise to check the price of pads as they do vary from calliper to calliper, often enough the cheaper callipers will cost a fortune in decent pads whereas the most common sought after sets are off the shelf pads that cost somewhat less.

pads and discs aint a problem, i work at euro car parts, so get staff discount, but the brakes areabit crap, and as these 266s have come up, at what i think is cheap, might be worth a go

You'll need different hubs (base or 1.9 with driveshafts) to fit these to you car, they are the wrong offset for 1.6 GTI hubs afaik.
