Ceratec Brake Lubricant, Made By Pagid/mintex

Recommended Posts

Paul_13

Been having an awful problem with brake squeal with my brake setup (307 Hdi w/ mintex 1144's), I copper greased them and it got considerably worse!

I mentioned this on the GTI6 forum and a bloke recommended Ceratec, this is produced by Mintex/Pagid and reportedly stops brake squeal.

I've bought some and applied it but unfortunately the car is not on road so can't test it out.

Just seeing if anybody has used it and achieved successful results?

Don't wanna put my hopes up and the b*stard still squeals like a piggy in a blender.

It was probably me, but yes, bloody good stuff. :)

Although I have that exact same setup and mine used to squeal like a bitch too, silent now though

doesn't work on 406 Brembo's when used on a 306, but that's a different matter really :)

Good to hear you had good results :)

Ah, scib then? :)

It quietened mine down a bit when I used it - got rid of perhaps 70% of the volume - that was with Mintex's backing shims too.

Wavy discs + no backing pads + no ceratec = silent

/smug mode

Nah, I find just one great big ego works fine :)

I might have some spare backing shims you can have if the ceratec doesn't shut it up completely.

This made a difference for a good few hundred miles of driving, might need a bit more applying as it's squealing a little again
