Xu10j4rs Gasket Help,tb To Plenium One?

Recommended Posts

pugpete1108

i have been told by james (wracing ) that after looking at msq i have a leak or air somewhere after the butterfly.

on investigation i have found that there is no gasket between the throttle body and the manifold? it looks as though there should be one (large squarish type) but when i went to pug all they have on the diagram for the rs engine is an o ring in between.(mine doesnt have this either?)

does anyone know what there should be in there? gasket o-ring or both? if a gasket does anyone have a part number?

cheers

pete

It should have a paper gasket , i got 1 for 60p from peugeot, 1635 C3 should be the part number , they are the same as the early 406 v6 gasket.

some have an o-ring, some have a paper type gasket

Picture for phase 1 is shown as a Gasket, Phase 2 as an o-ring.

Buy a sheet of gasket paper is the easiest and make your own ;)

If your Pug dealer are like my local ones the gaskets come in a bag of 10,and they won't sell you one :)

I hope this will solve your issues pete, an air leak is what it looks like. I have yet to look at your msq, bit pushed for time

have you tried running the engine and put your hand in front of the throttle body to listen for the hiss, or maybe try spraying carb cleaner around any gaskets to see if the revs rise?

and being a gti6 have you removed/checked around the resonator box.
