Driveshaft Boot - Different From Standard?

Recommended Posts

Bally123

Hi All

Hope someone can help, I had noted leaking grease from N>S> Inner drive boot so I got a new one. Went to fit it tonight and found the one on the car is different. Basically the standard ones fit over the diff output drive socket and are retained with a Jublibe type steel belt. The one on ours the boot appears to fit within to the diff output drive socket and is held by pressing a close fitting steel rim in to the drive socket. - make sence???

I guess its maybe after market but can anyone advise as to where I might get one from??

Sorry I have no pictures...

Thanks

Is yours a 1.6 mate as i know what type you mean, theyre a pain.If i remember correctly when you get the right boot kit you end up getting the metal type cone with the boot already inside.Bit hard to explain but have to peen the ends round to get it to hold in place

ORB

Rhino bands are the boy if you have the correct tool. You can get them VERY tight.

I just did mine last month.
