Starting Troubles...

Recommended Posts

Right my car is still not firing  new coil plugs and amp and nothing.... after searching it's possible that the CAS is at fault, but i'm sure this affects fuelling as well as ignition :D .

So to see if it was the CAS i shall try the one of my xsi as i believe this is compatiable... am i right in thinking so?

So frustrating this car!!! :D

Anthony

CAS sensor provides the timing signal for both injection and spark - so if you have one but not the other, I'd look elsewhere.

The one off your 306 XSi should work fine.

Cool.. thought it would be.... still don't think it that so i whipped of the distributor cap and i think i am going to chnage the rotor arm as it's looking a bit past it now......

So i've checked on euro carparts and the only one they do is for an 8v engine even though i used an 405 mi plate :ph34r: so i knew it was correct engine, nice price but apparently wrong! Might go down and ask to look at one but i'm not holding out much hope.... GSF do them for a shade under 20 but slightly out of my way.

Right been to GSF as i had an errand out that way..... really helpful, don't have any and not sure when...could try partco or camberley. So gave them a bell as i couldn't remember reg... bit of ummming and arring later, sorry no only a 1.9 8v one. Cheers then... didn't have camberley so tried pug. I can only give you rough price as we're not sure if it's bosch or ducellier about 70 quid with cap... :o .. only need rotor...

Then i decide to head back via eurocarparts, waited for ages to be served then to be told sorry don't think it's stocked any more..... :)

Loathed to order from GSF online as it's about a fiver deliver so makes it nearly thirty quid....

BAH :) ......

haha

 still no joy even with different cap and rotor..... if i get a chance this week i shall whip the injectors off to make sure they are firing just to double check... :) .. hopefully in some repects they aren't firing so the CAS would be the obvious culprit...... would try the xsi one but it looks a bit of a bugger to get to!!

Hopefully i shall find a solution to this trouble quick and get back on the road soon!!

Right well fuel is getting to the rail at least ;) now it's just trying to persuade it to come away from the inlet so i can check that the injectors are firing, proving to be a bit stubborn at the moment.... is it just a case of keep wiggling it to free it?

yeah i took mine off 2 day's ago making the mistake of pulling the little clips off the top of them and leaving them in the manifold and pulling the rail off . had to replace the little o rings when i put them back on lucky had a spare rail . just keep wiggling buddy they will come.

Can you post the outcome of it when it works cus i think i'm having the same trouble as you just going to get my dizzy checked now.

Still no joy with a different sensor :D .... going to take the rail off when i can find some suitable containers to test in, but puzzling me know. Looks like i might be digging out the old multi meter  ..... really beginning to annoy me know especially as nothing had been taken off or changed since the last time it was run... :D

gixxerash i hope you get your's sorted!! Mine's different to yours as i run the mi16 3 row management!!! Good luck!!!
