Whats Missing?

my 205 decided to empty its gearbox of oil a couple of weeks ago only just had chance to look at it, it come out of the diff drivers side seal, surely if its just the seal is knackered it wouldn't all come out so suddenly :s there was no leak at all before

 

here are some pics whats missing from them? there is a plastic ring looks a bit like a shim around the shaft

 

 

 

 

any help would be great guys

It doesn't look to be far enough in iirc but its been a while since I looked that closely.

You'd be surprised how much oil can come out of one, i just caught the edge of one once without noticing, filled it up and it was coming out as fast as i was putting it in.
