Head Gasket Problem Maybe

I'm after a bit of advice.

 

I've taken my f reg pug 205 gti 1.6 off the road to fix the little issues I've noticed since buying the car 2 months ago. I was replacing the air filter and thought I would replace one of the pipes at the same time. This is when I found mayo type slim in the pipes, I've checked the water and there is nothing there and I've changed the oil and that to is mayo free. So I'm at loss ... has my head gasket gone or is this a known issue with the 205 ... or if not is there anyway of fixing it without spending £800 to send it to the garage. If not I'm might put a different engine in it. But that will take time and money and both are limited at the moment lol
