Does The Xu10 Turbo Have A One Way Valve In The Oil System

Recommended Posts

Does the XU10 turbo have a one way valve in the oil system, or will I need to purchase a Peugeot oil filter with one in it to prolong the engine life?

Always buy a Purflex (Peugeot) one as it helps retain oil pressure due to this valve. For the few pennies more it is, it is a no brainer. I think I have some stock in my garage if you are struggling to get down to City Motors Anton.

What, so that if more of the inital start is without oil to the filter?

Pay the extra pennies for the proper filter, its was obviously design with the one way valve for a reason from the factory.

Peugeot filter it is!

If these filters will help with oil pressure, even if the xu10 has a non return valve built in or not((does it??)) then I'm going to use one for longevity.

Henry, I'll be passing Eccy Rd Peugeot so no worries! How's yours running these days, still quick?

Its not that the filter helps with oil pressure as thats governed by the pressure relief valve in the pump but they aid holding oil in the block & filter body for start up, especially from cold.

Not saying your wrong as your probley right but i never had a problem with 2 engines i have had that were rebuilt using cheap oil filters for the running in period, but then again i may have not been a cheapskate if i had a better job and could afford to use top quality parts.

I've found aftermarket / pattern oil filters costing more than the original equipment ones.

Yep, aid in getting the oil pressure up quickly after start is what I'm thinking. I want oil in the engine, not the sump after all..

+1, especially if you buy them 10 at a time! I am pretty sure I got mine for about £2 each
