If you'd have searched, you'd find that this is very common, and often nothing to worry about. It's a build up of condensation in the oil breathers, which forms a mayo-like sludge.

Absolutely nothing to worry about its very common on a 205 because of where the filler is.

I enjoy removing it with my finger. Then I take that pipe off that goes to the filler cap and blow the mayo pea shooter style at my grumpy neighbour's fence.

what the hells the point of all these pipes anyways why is there 2 that come up from the sump and join up again at the filler cap housing,it all seems very over the top, is it all to stop a few fumes entering the atmosphere ,,,, are these oil catch tank things any good ?

Guys my first post so here goes....just bought an old 1.9 and all these pipes and stuff need repalcing. Also the oil fill cap os braken from prising off with a screw driver I guess. Is there any raeson why I can't replace all thsi with a nice little tank..I could make one at night school ? Bit off steel plate some brazing copper tube...guess it need some gauze to do teh job of the rusty old brillo pad ! Has anyone done it ?

Thanks Ian.

I don't see any reason why it wouldn't work, don't worry about the gauze bit though as everyone seems to discard it anyway. Also if you need new hoses check out BakerBM. com (Stew205 on here) or Pugracing.com (Miles). Both do replacement silicone hoses and both do discount for forum members.
