309 Gti Rear Beam Bolt Plates

Recommended Posts

JRL

A while back I saw plates on the rear beam bolts in side the car as if acting like little stut braces. Im sure they dont do much but polished up theyd look great. Anyhow I have been told these two plates are standard on a 309 gti. Does anyone know if this is the case so I can put them on my 205.

thank you very much

I fitted some to one of my 205s when I fitted the 309 beam. I wonder why the 309s had them?

A plate which covers the 2 mounting studs for the rear beam, about 10cm long with 2 holes in. 1 either side.

Maybe it was because the 309 suspension is heavier that the 205 one and their boot panels were the same thickness, more strength.

Or just complete random, the plate isn't going to offer barely more strength, it's a piddly piece of pressed steel, just a replacement for washers IMO.
