hi guys can someone please help im just awating arrival of my 406 turbo from universal turbos as it was really smoking and had it rebuilt because the xm turbo i used is fouling the steering knuckle, i have had step seal, 360 degree bearing, bigger compressor blade fitted and housing machined he said there was also carbon build up why is this bad is it cos its lean or rich??????????? what do i do to correct it? when i first took it out it was a pain to get out i made a right pigs ear of it has anyone got step by step way to do it i ended up undoing top engine mounts taking turbo and manifold apart i basically undone everything into seprates there must be an easier way, i did a search and found some people claimed to do it in an hour HOW??, i thought id ask you guys for a better way as im gonna get the xm turbo out tomo and get it ready for the new one cant wait to get it in and have my first real play with it.

Also does anyone offer silicon or polished kit for boost pipes for turbo as mine are lorry water pipes and not very attractive! ha ha

silicone boost hoses & polished pipes are available from demon thieves / ebay / OR somewhere like this. I haven't personally taken the turbo off my engine (yet) so feel unable to offer substantial advice on the process..
