Tappets

the tappets on both my engines are sounding a bit worse for ware where is best to buy the buckets and shims??

QEP or Peugeot possibly but are you sure its the tappets & not a cracked exhaust manifold or leaking gasket?

the engine was only put in few days ago and the manifold and gasket looked ok

I would check your manifold for leaks mine looked fine and had bad tappet noise when accelerated spend hours checking tappet gaps etc. xu9 engines cam shafts and tappets are really robust. I recommend dropping manifold of putting gasket sealant for exhausts on the manifold face and head then put manifold back on. if that doesn't work try getting manifold face skimmed. good luck

If you've done an engine swap & not used a new oe downpipe gasket then it could be as simple as the fact its leaking but is the exhaust manifold cracked? (most are)

the noise seemd to get worse as the engine got hot and found out it was overfueling reallly bad and has bassically bore washed the top end, sorted it now but the tappets seem to of took a beating
