Just Bought Another 205

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

I have just 'won' this 205.

It's a totally standard '88 1.6, I have not collected it yet but went to look at it a few days ago. It's done 200,000 miles and been off the road since '06 but been in the same family from 1990.

It's not mint but quite tidy, the beam is not seized and the sills have been replaced in the past.

Whilst I love my existing 205, it has a cage, buckets etc, so fancied a stadard car as well.

It's a phase 1.5, but it has electric windows, which I was not expecting.

Sorry Baz, I hoped I was not bidding against anyone here.

It's only 10 miles from me, so too good (I hope) to turn down. Nat and I are collecting it tomorrow.

No worries mate, all's fair! I didn't rally expect to win it, was actually out and set a snipe on it, but think i was outbid before the snipe went in anyway!

My plan is to keep it Andrew and run it in the winter.

A few more photos from the advert. Is the sunroof deflector a Peugeot item or aftermarket?

With luck the rust in the boot won't take too much work to sort.

i had the same style boot rust as you have when i first got mine, it turned out that alot of that panel was filler, so a bit of screw driver + hmmer time later, all wa apparent and out came the metal bender and welder :/

Good purchase by the looks of it! I can also confirm the deflector is a pug item. I have one, welcome to the exclusive sunroof deflector club.

Well, I collected it today (thanks Nat, I owe you beers) and I managed to drive it ten miles home okay (on trade plates). Bearing in mind it has not been driven since 2006 it goes quite well.

I needs a clutch, rad and pads etc but I am very happy.

The beam is not seized and the OE bag is still over the dizzy.

It has all the MOT's and hustory from 1991 onwards.

Happy chap!
