Front Subframe Swap (+)

Hi there!

I know that I had to search the forum before I typed this question and I really did it but still have the question non-answered:

is it a direct swap if upgrading from a base model subdframe (I have a regular suspension car made in 1992) to a GTI subframe. To be more specific: I have stud type connection of subframe to the shell (I think that I don't have captive nuts in the shell) - can I just remove my base model subframe and bolt in a GTI subframe to the studs?

cant see it being a problem mate aslong as you can get it bolted up but is the gear lnkage but inthe same place mine had been moved when the old owner ha fitted a 1.4,

 

where it sits on non gti ( note it was orininally mountd aout 2-3 inces to te right )

 

and where mine now sits (standad gti position)
