205 Car Cover - Anyone Know Of A Good One To Buy?

Recommended Posts

Atari Boy

My 205 is being resprayed and as such I am keen to keep the new paintwork looking good.

I store the car in a garage and am thinking of getting a cover for it.

Has anyone bought one for a 205 that is worth recommending?

I have seen a few on ebay and as always prices vary quite a lot. Alternatively, should I be looking somewhere else?

Many thanks

I was looking at this over the weekend - Classic Additions do them about £250, not cheap but made to measure. I bought one from them a few years ago for one of my cars & the quality was top notch. It seems you pay for what you get!

N.B. Don't spec a logo as it comes as a sewn on patch, apparently if its embroidered it has a tendancy to lightly mark the paint, the patch looks pants IMO.

Have a look at "Cover Zone"- I have a tailored one for the Mini which fits nicely- it is an outdoor cover but I believe they also do cotton indoor ones.

Although if it is just a dustsheet you want, a few old cotton bedspreads and a bit of marking out, and then bribe the Mrs/Mother/Mother in law etc to do a bit on the sewing machine.

thats all I have, a large (king size?) sheet thrown over the car, does the job.

I have a 4 layer one from Hamilton Classic.

Had it on all over winter and it has kept the car really dry & warm. Bottom layer is fleecy and designed so it doens't damage paintwork. Because it reaches to the floor you also don't get any build up of surface rust on the discs. Well made but at a cost - £135 if i remember correclty.

If you are keeping it inside then i find these good:

I use one on my 205 outide, but they are not waterproof, just resistant. Very soft and breathable though, much better price than some of the proper ones.

Lots of good ideas chaps, thank you. The heated one sounds interesting SerGie.

The chances of me getting my wife, mother or mother in law to knock something up is very remote, none of the 'get' my 205.

I have a cover from Specialised covers too like Carl's, for my 205. Very soft cotton, tailored fit, and logo on the bonnet. Very nice but cost £160, all the same I'd definitly recommend one.
