One Touch Auto Window Wiring. Help.

Recommended Posts

Hi all

i'v manage to get my hands on a 405 drivers auto window wiring loom. i'm thinking of fitting it but i'v had a look at the wiring in my car and i'm not to sure what wires go where.

on the drivers switch i'v got 1, purple

2, green/yellow

3, brown and white (2 wires in one)

4,green/yellow

5,brown

and on the 405 loom i'v got the switch that goes to a black box, 2 wires that go to the window motor from the black box and 4 wires that i asume that go to the cars power.

the wire colours are 1, purple

2, green

3, yellow with green dots (think its an earth)

4, yellow with green dots (this comes straight from the switch)

can any one help as i dont what to damage the 405 loom or my own car.

thanks stee1fm

Hi there,

If you don't mind to wait, I can chase my mechanic and see how he did to my car because he did mind about 8 years ago, both side.

I agree that the yellow with green dots are earths, common colouring for Pugs from that era but unfortuately wiring diagrams are referenced by the wire number not colour.

Are there any wire numbers that you can see on the 405 loom to try to match up to the 205 loom or refer to in a haynes wiring diagram?

Just had a quick look & there are two earths (to seperate earthing points) but the other four wires from the switch go to the window lift unit (looks like this isn't the motor).

I think you need to join the wires into the lift unit directly into the 205 loom by wires 5/95, 92A & 92C are common between the lift unit & one touch switch & 97 on the 405 loom.

Graham.

Did you (or anyone else) ever work this out???

I have got myself some 405 window switches including an auto switch and the loom and black control box. I'm having difficulty in working out which wires from the 405 loom go to which on the 205 loom.

Anyone got a definitive answer, before I blow any more fuses  ?

Thanks

Pete

Bit of a bump- but does anyone have the wire codes/diagrams to hand for the 405 one touch? Im trying to fit it to the passenger door, and cant remember what goes where, and dont want to remove the drivers door card/loom tape if I can help it!

Wires from the 405 control unit are:

6005 09

A302

M604+94

Thanks

Craig

Ive made sense of everything aprt from the three wires- two going to the motor, a small single earth for the illuminated switch, but I cant make sense of the last three. Presumably one of them recieves the switched live from the door to the bitron box, but not sure what the other two do!

Guess it also complicates matters that I am trying to fit it into the passenger door, so presumably the switch needs to be overridden by the switch on the drivers door in order to still work on the drivers side?

Hey, I tried to get the one touch working on the passenger side, managed to do it but it disables the use of the switch on the drivers side for the passenger side window so just changed it back again..

Sure I have a little wiring diagram somewhere I made up of how the module to switch is wired up if that would be any use?

Good luck
