Help Interference On Radio

Hi just fitted a radio to my 205 GTI it didn't come with a working radio when I bought it. I now have terrible interference, any advice on what, where and how to suppress this noise

I had this problem too. I don't know if this is the cause for certain but when I removed my aeriel base last week the bit inside the car with the nut was very rusty which can't of helped at all, might be worth checking there.

You don't mention if the interference is constant, gets louder with speed or gets worse with wipers etc.

 

It was a pain but I replaced the co-ax from the head unit to the aerial.

Theres also the old favourite of knackered plug leads but i thought modern suppresion leads had eliminated this

Hi yes it is a constant tic tic tic noise, I have just replaced the lug leads with new ones, I will investigate the Ariel lead

You can buy suppressors to cure ignition loop interference.

Back in the old days of the 8v, I found after cleaning up THE brown multiplug sorted mine out!
