Long Tails On Harness Straps

Recommended Posts

rallysteve

I have trial fitted my Sabelt Harnesses as you may have seen in my project blog. Only thing is that I have long tails left on the shoulder straps after mounting onto the cage bar. What should I do with these as I hate the look of them just dangling down. Should I roll them up and zip tie to the belt or cut them off?

roll them up and cable tie, not sure if you are actually allowed to cut them.

if you move the buckles further forwards towards the seat you'll use up a lot of the loose bit.

Cheers hadnt thought of that, although think the instructions that came with said to keep the buckle as close to the bar as possible.

You could cut the loose end if you wish and melt the end with a lighter to stop them unravelling. As it is not a loaded part of the belt you can shorten it.

However I would leave them long, for the simple reason that if you ever decide to move them to another car, or sell them on, they are more use long.

Thanks I will roll them up and cable tie them below the belt buckle.
