help guys i have a bit of a problem my mum had my car earlier and rang me saying there was oil everywhere under the car. i made her check the oil level which was fine, then the water just incase fine again already at this point thinking balls it'll be gearbox oil. she said it went into gear fine so i told her to drive it home.

when i got home there was more oil on the ground under it

it appears to be dropping quite a bit out of the differential  any ideas? diff seal/gasket completely dead i guess it is dropping at a rate that it'll be empty by the morning.

how big of a job is it? its coming out of the drivers side of the diff

Dunno then mate, wouldn't like to say without looking. I saw your 205 and went to wave to you yesterday but you'd turned into a middle aged blonde woman ;)

;) that would be my mum :P

her mk1 golf is terminally ill at the moment major missfiring turned into nasty scummy stuff in the water reservoir pouring out lol nice top end rebuild there for me :P

so she has been using my 205 recently and i've been in the mini both of which broke today, the 205 aint going anywhere till this leak is fixed and when i tried to go to the pub earlier the mini decided to develop a short on the fuel pump circuit and keep blowing fuses :( a mate had to tow me home :(

so on my drive there is a broken rover 25 gti, a broken 205 gti, a broken mk1 golf gti and a broken mini on the road cos no room left on the drive :D

i don't think i've ever driven past you in your 205 which is impressive seeing as you live in my road

If the drive shaft seal has completley gone it will leak like mad until the fluid is level with the bottom of the drive shaft.

Also check to see if the reverse idler gear bolt hasnt fallen out, this happend on mine which made a big mess every were.
