hi there was after some help was looking to tint the lower half of the reflective bit (the chrome type stuff) in my headlights i have seen this done and it looks really nice and you don't loose much light to be honest with you and now the lighter nights are here i fancied doing it to mine was just pondering if antone on here has done that or tried to seperate the glass from the backing any help would be much appreciated...

I think it depends what make of headlight you have, some the glass is glued on, others its held in with metal clips

Get an old set of headlights as they all fade anyway!

The glass will pop off either with the clips or carefully prizing apart. Post pics when you are done please

i like your style lol but think i might go for the either prizzing the clips of or the glue will it just put aprt with a good tug or do you reckon heat it up a little bit to melt the glue, i suppose it will be high temp paint that will have to used also..

Wouldn't have thought you'd need high temp paint, they get warm, but not _hot_

Interested to see what it will look like anyway, as I've got loads of spare headlights sitting around...

The other option is some dark chrome vinyl stuck to the bottom

how about this for an alternative, its called lamin-x, its a tinit film that comes in a few colours mines gunsmoke (darkest) and it still allows 95% of light through.

lamin-x.co.uk or lamin-x.com, the later is amercian site and they sell kits pre cut to shape, but then postage is alot, but the 205's lights are nice and square so just buy sheets from the uk site, its dead easy to put on as can pull it off and re stick it loads of times untill your happy with it, then its self healing etc so after a few days the finish is perfect.
