Brembo Brake Calipers

Recommended Posts

Hi Guys.

I know this has been covered time and time before but im struggling to get a definate answer searching through the forum.

Is it possible to fit a set of brembo's from a 406 coupe on my 205 gti running standard 1.9 alloys.

If the answer is yes can anyone help me by listing what I need to get in order to do this :( ie. spacers, brackets, size discs etc

Thanks Jamie

Nope.

Bigger wheels or spacers.

There's a 406 v6 with those brakes on at a scrap yard near me.

i have a set of custom alcon 4 pots with 305mm rotors under 15s  now my car sits on pro race 1.2s tho but my speedlines fit also

the brembos are great for the money tho tbh

you could have the brembos and new wheels for under what my brakes cost lol

Yes you can.

I used 307 Hdi discs but you will need spacers, I had 20mm and there was easily enough room. (I only chucked the 1.9 alloys on to see if they would fit.)

If I wanted to use this setup I'd use 19mm spacers or smaller though as you don't really want a negative ET.

Stick with the GTI6 brakes, replace fluid with 5.1 and get some decent pads.

If they were supplied standard on a heavier 306gti6 they'll be more than adequate on a 205 with the same engine.

Those brembo's squeal real bad

Anthony only runs 1.9gti brakes, you don't need anything big and fancy it's the small bits that count.

I doubt you'd even need anything bigger than 266mm discs with the right pads, its only a gti6 engine.

If you still want to do it then you need 20mm spacers, longer brake lines with banjo fitting and xsara v6 discs
