Gti6 Engine Conversion

Recommended Posts

Started to fit engine, so far old motor is out. Can any one tell me if the battery will fit in comfortably or should i re locate it as some one said i ought to do. I don't really feel happy with more weight in the back or all the extra cable bearing in mind its a rally car.

:)

How are you fitting the airfilter? On the 90 degree hose?

Battery will fit in original place :)

ive always had a thing for chucking my battery in the boot :) i like the idea of the weight distrubtion, especailly on 6 coversion, could shift that little bit extra weight to the back. although entirely up to you. 306 batt box will look neat though :D

Use a 306 battery box, seperate the ECU housing from the 306 battery box, like I did. My air filter is a K&N 57i, mounted below before the gearbox:

I love the cage being fitted to the beam bolts, i was thinking of doing what you did apart from having the batter below the boot floor which i might try myself keeping the centre of gravity as low as possible.

Thats a bloody good idea to store the spare wheel and the battery!

Might have a look into that :)

Its fine what hes done but on mine i've got a fuel pump in a sealed box, a fire ext and a spare wheel so for me it would be difficult. :)

You don't need to do that :)

Get a ECU holder from a TU powered 306 ;) they have separate ECU holder on a nice metal bracket you can modify slightly then bolt to ign amp mounting point :D
