Fitting A Charger To An Alloy Block Mi16

Recommended Posts

craig_007

Anyone got any info on this,I noticed a charger forsale over 306gti forums and I quite fancy trying something else with the car.

How safe is this on a car with wet liners?

I wasn't intending altering engine compression etc as I have just rebuilt it so boost would be limited.

If anyone has a link to an installation that would be great.

At the minute I know very little but thought it was worth a shot trying to find out more.

Do a search my friend, and you shall find a guy who has done exactly this, with very good results.

I just had a good look through some previous posts and came across allans charger conversion.

What a cracking job and looks a hell of a lot more complex than I had originally thought.

Home brew could be out of the question for me I think.

Most things mechanical are not a problem but the fabrication of plenums and modified top engine mount is beyond me I'm affraid.

I dare say I could probably get the charger mounted but fabrication side would beat me.

Out of interest what mangement is that car running ?

I believe it is a DTA E48 which is also the ECU I use on my 1600T.

I want a dta E48 as Tom and Allan are my heros. Maybe then they will not throw things at me when I sit outside their houses at night wearing just a smile....

Allan,

I don't suppose you have any dimensions for the plates/mountains you had to make up for bolting the charger on etc ??

If so would you be willing to pass them on to me ??

Craig
