Hi guys, this is just a quick one to see if anyone can help me with my 205. Basically im trying to get the car ready for the track but i cant get the engine to run right. I really need someone who knows the engine. If anyone can help please contact me on ***********. Im in maidstone kent!!

I'm down in Dover, but having transport problems at the mo. I think RossD is round your way and I'm sure he'll be able to offer some advice.

What's the problem anyways? The guys may be able to help via the forum or there could be a previous thread that covers what you need to know.

Basically i think its the timing and also the throttle position matching up with the afm. Its a 1.9 gti '91 that is totally standard. the power seems to be ok in the low rev range but then after about 3k it dies off.

Coil? sounds ignition related to me.

I'm not around at the moment I'm afraid. Have you checked the ignition timing etc? Few more symptoms may be helpful to try and diagnose the problem.

If you're still stuck over the weekend I may be able to help, depends on my schedule.

I have replaced the ignition coil. Im not sure how to check the ignition timing!!!

I'm no 'expert' but I know my way around an 8v & I'm about 15 mins from you.
