Nice, shame about the crap pics though. I'd love a 505 but the running costs would allways put me off.

I wasn't questioning the relability, it was more a point about the fuel and tax costs :D

Its one of those classic ugly cars, but nice. Like a bmw 635csi, ugly but cool.

I remember my dad got a 505 Gti in graphite as a courtesy car when his company car was in for a service. It was certainly an improvement on our mkII Cavalier!

On a stag night/day out in bournemouth I saw a 505 driving along and shouted at the whole group "look a Peugeot ..." and the name then evaded me(something to do with pub golf and doing them all in 1... :)). The bloke then shouted out his (open) window "505"

Only time I've ever seen one. :D

The best taxi driver in Bournemouth still drives his 505 estate. Was it him?

Mounted the other way round too  Would be fun to try though!

My parents had a 505 GTI Estate in some colour half way between maimi and topaz. It was awesome :) they got rid of it before i was old enough to drive though otherwise I would have nabbed it off them

The 2.2 wasn't exactly state of the art even back when the 205 was new. It's probably quite large as well, and not worth the effort for only 120hp.

130 bhp I think, ran on Jetronic and revved pretty well for an old big 8 valver, my mum had a Midnight blue Familiale Phase 2 on a C plate, did 168k before the speedo stopped working and it lived on for another 18 months before starting to chuck out a LOT of black smoke :)

I think with some proper TLC, nice alloys and 40mm lower that car would look very mean indeed.

I bet there's a nice big engine bay just begging to be filled with turbocharger too.

The ultimate sleeper drift weapon? What is the rear suspension situation, live axle? (Wiki says trailing arm, not much more advanced!)

Still pimpin' i reckon.

Estates had live axles and the saloons had trailing arm rear suspension. We had several estates when I was younger, fantastic cars, 3 rows of seats too, beat the MPV's to it!

I'd love to drift that bad boy, looks like a really early Skyline. V6 sounds good!

its a ZDJ L engine, 2165 cc, (88 bore, 89 stroke) 9.8-1 compression, the shorter stroke 2.0 and a 12v version of the 2.2 was used by renault till about 1996, as far as I know its related to the 21 Turbo engine!

built in the same factory that built the PRV V6 engines, Douvrin.
