Right folks ive fitted my gti6 engine into my 205 with a loom i got off spiky and went to fire it up the other day and the car just wound over puzzling me quite a bit!!! my mate came round tonight and we checked the current going to the injectors which is spot on but when we checked the current going to the coilpacks there is none so what could this be?? i was thinking the ecu i bought isnt unlocked as advertised

Have a look at my build thread mate, had exactly the same problem. Does sound like the ECU is locked. Sounds silly but you've got the live terminal connected in the right place.

My mate has an unlocked ECU PM me if your interested or your stuck :)

hi mate what do you mean by the live terminal connected in the right place?? i have the connector coming off the gti6 loom which bolts onto my starter and 2 leads that go onto the alternator which connect to the shunt box

Right folks im at the point now where

i key on and hear the fuel pump priming which reads 12v on the multimeter but when i start the car this goes to 0

If i key on the car quickly without the fuel pump priming and try to start the car it reads 12v and stays that way

It cant be an ecu issue as ive tried my mates one and his double relay box which works spot on in his car!

Ive taken photos of my brown plugs to show you my setup! if theres anything looking strange to you guys any help would be great!

All looks good to me.

Take a pic of your crank sensor plug mate.

Is the loom earthed out? And an earth present from block/body battery/body?

Spiky

i've already asked about crank sensor, but he says. it's right, though a pic will confirm

i've now asked him to put a temp live to the main feed to the starter from the shunt box, as i'm thinking he might not have a perm live to the shunt box
