Yes. But judging by the fact that you're asking you probably don't have any gas welding gear lying about...or do you?!

Works best for me on rusty exhausts - I've kept pipes and boxes going for many many years past their usual lives with oxy acetylene.

The beauty being that it's a process not reliant on electrical conductivity and isn't bothered by rust, it simply melts away and last but not least, with care and a bit of skill you can see holes before they blow out on you or fill them easier than with a MIG set.

Yes :) it's just a matter of two minute blast with MIG welder and it'll be as good as new :) but need to check the insides of the silencer , if the perforated pipe inside isn't rusted/collapsed ... grab the silencer and shake it a bit , if it rattles inside don't bother with repair replace it ..

I'd price up a replacement from www.buypartsby.co.uk or a local motor factors before spending too much time on it though.

I just ordered a new back box for my 1.9 (2 piece system non cat)

Product : Quantity : Price

PG210M : 1 : 23.37

Subtotal : 23.37

Delivery : 7.50

Tax VAT : 5.40

TOTAL : 36.27

Not bad seeing as I was quoted £38 +VAT by GSF (but they had none in stock).
