Peugeot Sport Club National Convention 1995 Video

Recommended Posts

Henry Yorke

A bit of old film from the Peugeot Sport Clubs 1995 (wasn't it Miles?) National Convention at Silverstone.

I have bought a video capture device and will try and get some more old video up soon and try and improve the picture quality.

405 BTCC sounds awesome :)

That 405 sounds fantastic! Wonder how many of those are still on the road today!

Super Josh

I was there Henry. God that brings back some memories. I'd only had my car for just over a year back then :)

Anthony

Your camera work is a bit shoddy Henry :)

One thing that jumped out at me is how many 309's there were present back then when they were still a newish car, compared to 15 years later - still lots of 205's, but 309's are becoming a very rare sight :)

I noticed that too Anthony and I have some track time video from the event where there are loads of them running about. It is in car so a little boring and this copy of a copy of a VHS has probably seen better days! The reason they are not so common now is the 'bones and beam brigade on here!

Nothing to do with them all rotting from the inside out then?

I've scrapped two that I would have kept complete if they weren't full of corrosion. One was an early D or E reg GTI that looked great externally and drove very well and the other was a '92 J phase two that was average mechanically, its rear beam and wishbones were all scrap! I've never seen a 205 with anywhere near the amount of rust the 309s I've had were hiding.

At least I have a 405 gearbox though from the earlier models. Would love the whole car though.
