Remove the amal valve (leave it plugged in tho) and fit a manual boost controller pref Dawes device with a spring loaded ball in it, They will happily take 1.0 bar all day long as long as every thing else is spot on !,Fit some Saab redtop injectors too they help myth has it that they will overfuel way too much but then alot of that is spread by theory as opposed to practical experience !, although our car has a DKZ cam in it so I guess that could have an influence in it !

running 0 bar of boost at the moment as i have no engine yet lol, was running 1 bar of boost on the old engine but the clutch started slipping so dropped it down to 0.8 and was smooth. whizzer you on standard management? how much did you pay for the dkz cam? and are you running redtop injectors?

The car Im refering too has been through many changes over the years but yeah at one point it was on std management with redtops and std turbo whacked upto as much as it could make !,although its always run a Gti6 clutch ltd slip diff and Xsara gearset with 3.59 Fd and Mi 5th, Its now on Emerald with the T28 going for another remap soon once its had some 440cc injectors and 3" turbo exit flange downpipe and system, made 215 last time but that was on a shagged engine so will be interesting to see what itll make

As for the Dkz cam I now have three of them spare as I got a catcam for my own engine, I think the cheapest I got was £40.

did you not get bore wash with using bigger injectors or did turning the boost up make it even out a bit? what car / engine did you get the injectors off? let me know what bhp you make on your next run and also how much you have spent so far on the engine / management + mapping, thanks. also where you bought your cams from?

We didnt get any bore wash the boost was around 1.0 bar any more and the Ecu "cuts" the injection,"Redtops are Saab turbo injectors and the cam came from the rare 1.9 (Dkz) Cat engine althought you can use DFZ (1.9 low comp cat engine found in Gentry & 1.9 Auto) and 2.0ltr Xsi cam also.

Will let you know what the power output is like as and when it all gets mapped next month.

Went to Santa Pod with it yesterday and with my mate Driving it (its his car) managed regular 13.01 1/4's at just over 110 Mph, Not bad really for a road going car with its full interior and all 4 seats as it left the factory, was wasting many Scooby's and Evos plus alot of other "modded" stuff also, I will be posting vids that I took with my cam corder later this week on the forum

thanks for the information mate, think i might try my luck with redtop injectors on standard management. im only running a cosworth 2wd intercooler dont think theres any point in running something bigger unless i upgrade more.

Do these sound about right?Seen these on ebay, SAAB 9-5 /9-3 SET OF 4 RED INJECTORS P/N 0280155749 . Might just get them done whilst engines in bits, would these be ok on standard ecu? Might treat it to a set up,can anyone recommend a good tuning garage near leeds? Also struggling to find a headgasket set for it,is gti 6 gasket the same? Thanks, matt.
