Cti Advice Needed

Does anybody know what the original CTI and Lion logos were on the centre of the steering wheel on a phase 1?

 

All the original photos I have are unfortunately in black and white and I cannot tell if it is white or silver?

 

No paint remains on my steering wheel to give me clue! Any advise would be most welcome!

I thought silver would make sense, since the CTI badge is also silver.

Yes, definately Silver on my standard phase 1 CTI

they normally follow the hard top varieties, and I've only seen silver, never seen white!!

I find it strange that the GTI's I've had have always had the red logo intact, yet on the CTI (this being my 1st one, so nothing to compare with), none of the original silver paint remains!?
