You could've found out using a search considering this has been done to death, but something like this;

hi there just jumping in on the band wagon on this one you said about the oil cooler i would rather not use 1 but i am about to convert my 1.9 205 to the alloy mi16 soon i picked the block up last night and it has the oil cooler sandwich plate with the threaded bolt thing that you screw your oil filter onto have you any ide where i would get a new threaded bolt thing without the spacer bit for the sandwich plate so it would just screw into the block then the filter onto that any help will be much apreciatd

also my water block union only has 2 sticking out and 1 coming out at the side any ideas about that where the hoses would go

Wherever you plumb them in to the coolant system. Late cars and 309's have a top hose that has to pipes for this purpose.

You can get the sandwich plate adapter from Peugeot, perhaps obviously?

sorry to be thick lol i am tryingto read as much as i can into this conversion and i have wires and hoses clips and all sorts flying around in my head to muckh knowladge to take in at once lol so as my 1 has only 2 pipes comiing off the water union would i do away with the 3rd one that goes around to the thermostat housing in the pic above.

and i wanted to do away with the sandwich plate so the filter bolts straight to the block i suppose maybe something off the 106 perhaps might do the job.

sorry to be a pain lol

Try harder, this isn't the first time it's been hinted that you pull your finger out. And, no, i won't, or even try to do as you ask. Because then i'll just be fuelling your 'nah, can't be bothered, i'll just post a thread up, massaging my post count in the process and get someone else to tell me what to do and answer my questions' attitude. :(

I seriously doubt you'll find any "close up pics" of where the water hoses run to but the majority of people try to keep the plumbing of the coolant system as close to the original 8v as possible to make it easier to find replacement hose should they ever be needed.

I know I can't remember seeing any in my time on the forum.

The sandwich plate on your Mi16 is for the water / oil heat exchanger as used in the 405 which is best removed & forgotten about, especially if your Mi has an alloy sump because these cool the oil very effectively.

The union through the sandwich plate should unscrew leaving you with the small stub for the oil filter thread.

Graham.

Tbh i really don't see why you'd need actual pictures, from seeing this;

It'll then be pretty clear when you actually come to doing it. :(

Here's a thread regarding GTI6 engine coolant piping

Similar to a S16 almost, probably only a few differences. It's been a while since I had my S16 engine and only had it for a week, the bores were soo badly corroded I had to scrap it. I had a diagram on my build thread but I can't find it.

I can take pics of my GTI6 setup if needed?
