If you are happy with the 1.6 why change?

If you do want to change (i did but the old engine had a problem) imo you need to get the mi ecu, afm and any other bits to run it on the mi ecu.

You can run it off the 8v stuff but you would need to remove/change the rev limiter and get a dizzy adaptor.

When i changed as well as more POWER :) the mpg went up as well ;)B) better idle as well.

'a bit'! This is about £1,000 plus of modification and then there's mapping etc on top.

My best advice to you is to go and have some serious reading of project threads on here looking for 'Mi16' engined cars. That way you'd have a much better picture of what to expect, prepare yourself and pay for.

A standard Mi16 conversion done well including the engine, loom and ECU will cost around £600 (maybe a little less) or nearer £1,000 if you pay someone to do it. It can be done in a day, at the cheaper end of the cost scale if you do the work yourself...but you do need to know what you're doing.

Go and research on this forum and understand what's really involved, as some of the opinions you'll get saying 'just go and do it' may make you wish you'd stayed with the 1.6.

The plug and play option for sale on here I've seen you look at would be a very good start, but it will still involve work.
