Advice On Spark Plug Choice

Recommended Posts

pugpete1108

sorry if it has been done before (if it has i couldn't find it) but i could do with some advice for buying some new plugs for my vts engined 205.with the now looming mot and the car still not running 100%

i have been on spark-plugs.co.uk and found three possible sets:

vts phs 1:

normal-bkr5ez

irridium-bkr5eix

vts phs 2:

normal-bkr6ez

irridium-bkr6eix

305gti6:

normal-bkr6ek

irridium-bkr6eix

these are all ngk ones, i am currently running champion ones (mainly for the cost-cheap) which i brought off the shelf in halfords for a vts engine and i understand champion ones are pretty rubbish.

now i would personally go for the vts ph1 irridium ones as im pretty sure the engine was from a r plate vts but not 100% on that.

now i know the vts/gti6 runs cop as std and i am now running a ford wasted spark coil pack, will this make a difference? as i read somewhere that the cop system used resistive plugs??

any advice please would be great and a reccomendation from someone who runs this system without problems would be even better.

cheers

BKR6EK I would use, cheapest and easiest to get, my local motorfactor does them for well under a tenner :)
