K Light And Hesitation

Recommended Posts

Hi, can anyone help with either of 2 faults I'm having with my 205 1.9 GTi L plate low comp engine. The 1st being the K light. Its very intermittent, sometimes its on when you start the car and sometimes whilst your driving. Mainly its when I de-accelarate or slow right down, then once its on it holds the car back (the car still ticks over perfect) It can stay on then for days or sometimes just a few hours. I can't understand why it fixs itself!

The 2nd fault is when accelarating, once I hit around 2800 rpm the car hesitates and holds back. I can drive through it and when it hits 4000 rpm its rapid. I've changed the ignition module but its still the same!

Any ideas, as I'm at the point where I feel like driving it into a wall!!

It could possibly be your lambda sensor that needs changing, but I am guessing. I don't know how you actually test these yourself. The hesitation could also be related to this as the fuelling may not be working right due to the lambda.

I would say its either the

lambda(ecp £56.00 bosch one Ive ust ordered when I changed cat)

I still have my old one, which you could have if paypal me a £5.00 and Ill post it.It never had the light just did it as a precaution.

I tried an old afm not realising once, as still trying to get an old afm bracket to fit, the K light came on so it could be a poor connection their or faulty. If you k'n'n yours have you got the old afm bracket as want one?
