Recommended Posts

Im changing me 1.6 to 1.9 and got up the stage of putting my dizzy on tonight, i took number 2 spark plug out and put that piston to tdc (was on compression as felt it blowing on finger) and i lined up the mark on flywhweel but the dizzy roter arm will not line up with the ht lead lugs, the timing belt was changed by last owner and has not ran since its been changed, is it this or is there somethin else i could look at? any help much apreciated phil.

I would be more concerned with checking/re-doing the cam timing. Trust no one elses work, espicially as it hasnt been run yet.

The ignition timing is quite happily set after by advancing untill it pinks underload (up a hill in 5th) on a wee test drive. Haynes covers the 'propper' method. Search for 'M@tt' he has a PDF haynes in his sig.
