Not Looking Too Bad...

Recommended Posts

pugpete1108

i have managed to get my rallye arches fitted today, i resorted to screwing them on in the end after buying the sh*ttest poly adheisive in the world that even after 24hrs still was not dry.

anyway i think it looks rather good considering its only £40 worth of paint and some graft. just excuse the groove on the rear quarter (which was full of filler along with the badge indents) i will sort these when i get round to a full stripped respray.

Not bad! Matt black doesn't look to shabby.

What happened with rear trim line? Someone give you a parking nudge

There's a bloke who sprayed his escort van red with rattle cans, didn't think it'd amount to much but looks stunning. Took him 4 months of prepping and spraying, used to see him walking to school everyday.

Personally I'd of spent time sorting the trim line before painting.

Paint is 99% prep 1% paint in my opinion.

The bonnet was painted with rattle cans but you'd never know.

yeah but the aim was only to get it uniform, until i get a bigger garage then it will be stripped dipped and sprayed proper

plus I'm in a rush to get it back on the road

Cheers for the comments tho

couple more today, got the screen back in, fitted the wipers (nice to have two again) scuttle panel. also fitted some trim to the inside of the door cutouts as im fed up with keep cutting myself on it :) .

there aint alot of space between the front wheel and the arch (less than a finger width) i can see some trimming ahead.

made a start on the other side now:

also when i said the adheisive was sh*t i meant it, as today i shut the door and one of the rear badges i stuck on using it fell off??? its supposed to be for bodykits but cant hold a small plastic badge on.

and steve that looks a good job on that car, you do the whole lot with rattle cans?

I love matte black, stealth bomber. Some Tyre pen might look good too.

i used 10X500ml cans. probabally could have done with another couple on the larger areas like the bonnet, but it is only a temp measure anywho.

i have just done the drivers side today and the boot. and seeing as its masked up i'm gonna nip to halfords and get another can to put on it.

i got the paint originally off ebay iirc it was £35 for ten cans delivered. better than 6.99 a can from halfords and it was satin black not matte but i dont think there is much in it tbh.

i'll get some more pics up soon when everything gets re fitted.
