Radiator Dash Light Fault

Recommended Posts

miamigtimark

Tried a search but found nothing.

Dashboard radiator light comes on when engine is revved.

No coolant loss even after a hard run.

Im presuming its a sensor in the header tank??? or should i be looking elsewhere?

TIA

On Phase 2's like yours, it's normally the sensor/wiring picking up noise from the HT leads - try routing the wiring as far away as you can, and consider replacing the HT leads (or trying a known-good set) as they could be beginning to break down.

Phase 1 / 1.5 models have a completely different sensor for the low coolant level and don't suffer the issue.

Thanks for the reply.

Yes that would make sense as ive just changed the ht leads and they are quite long so ive routed them differently.

Where is the sensor so i can route the leads differently?

Could the sensor just need cleaning? should imagine it gets pretty gacked up... mind doesn't explain why it does it whilst revving :):P
