Vtr Engine Into A Rallye

Recommended Posts

backroadpug

hi every one i have a 1994 rallye and a mate of mine has a 2002 saxo vtr thats had a rear end shunt

he is offering me the whole car for 500 buck

was thinking on putting the engine into my rallye

the engine has a few goodies also.

first thing is wiring her up (any info would be good) would using a mega jolt ecu or storm make it easyer as in future would want carbs or boddies

i have a 1.9 gti tank spare am i better to use this or a facet fuel pump

should i keep the vtr box

what shafts should i use

can i use the front brakes

any info would be good as would want to complete it in a weekend

cheers

Do a search, it's been covered countless times before.

you say your car's a '94 but didn't they stop making the rallye in '92? The only reason i ask is post '92 cars need to meet more strict emission standards for the MOT. This limits your options where carbs are concerned is all.

im sure it would have been made round then but not registered till 94 it always fails the cat test but then gives you the option to carry out a non cat test

I would drop it all in as it was in the 106, injection and all, will run very nicely and give you a decent reliable 100 bhp then.

wiring it up should be pretty straightforward, just like an MI16 conversion, though the wiring does not come through by the steering column, and you may need to add a few wires.
