Mi16 Problem..halp Needed Asap

Recommended Posts

hi i have an mi16 1.9 alloy block here.

two row wiring just did it and iv no spark. i have changed coil, ignition amp and crank sensor and ecu from another mi16 two row.

so i am putting it down to nosignal from ecu going to ignition amp...

could it be the wrong flywheel or something??

earlier as i connected and disconnected the ecu plug you could hear a little noise like a live and negative i dunno

Is it purely spark that you're missing? Does the fuel pump run when cranking, and are the injectors firing?

fuel pump is not running cause its not getting the earth from the ecu but it runs if i earth that point on the relay

Sounds like either the ECU isn't getting proper power (swap the relays for a couple of the green ones from the fusebox, and that all the earths are connected) or it's not seeing a signal from the crank sensor (since you've tried another crank sensor, check the flywheel has the 60-2 Motronic timing teeth on it, and make sure the wiring and connector look OK)

Oh, and if you've only just wired it in, also check you've not made the usual gaffe and mixed the TPS and CPS connectors up...

I had a similar problem and that was the fuel pump relay not getting power. I bridged the terminal on the relay plug which got it going, but if you do this, only do it temporarily as it will drain your battery!!

yes i can get fuel pump power easy this way i did this but still no spark..hopefully its flywheel or even better mixed up connections

right i left the two relays as they were on the loom the first one is clicking as i have a direct live going to the coil from battery.. now this relay clicks, the second one does not ( fuel pump one) because its not getting the earth signal from the ecu...

now i have a known good ignition amp coil and crank sensor in it.

i also checked fly wheel and the correct one is in it.

i am totally lost. i know the fuel pump is not working because there is no spark but why no spark :D

oh and crank sensor and tps are correct way around shielded one to crank..
