Engine Bay Plugs Not Connected. Can Anyone Advise

Recommended Posts

hi.

after 7 weeks in a garage, they have told me my car needs an air flow meter. i have tried cleaning breather pipes etc,

i am still insure.

the car originally wasnt starting due to immibiliser, got that sorted, got new battery, finally got car started but cuts out after cold start shuts off.

i have removed the air flow meter / plug to make it run richer, and the car is still running the same,

i have a couple of plugs that dont seem to be attached which i have put a red square around, can anyone tell me what these are off.

also any other problems that would make this car not idle correctly. i have tried loads now,

it is a 91 peugeot 205 gti 1.6.

also i seen these people selling chipped air flow meters on ebay, this is just a resistor, some people have left + feedback for these product for a peugeot 205. im unsure though. anyone else seen these and what they think.

bottom line. if i do need an air flow meter, anyone know where to source 1 at the right price?

thanks in advance. Terry

Clockwise; 1. Crank position sensor, 2. Fan test plug, 3. Shunt box, this is fine but should have a little cover over.

1 and 2 are just there for diagnostic/test purposes, not meant to be plugged in to anything.

Leave the 'chipped' AFM's for mugs on ebay... :)

ebay is always a good place to source an afm but im sure if you asked on here there be a few people have them spare

i have some paperwork about adjusting the afm from bosch will find it and send you copies if you wish?

also the is always a few plugs that dont seem to do anythig ive found on most cars i've worked on seems the factorys seem to keep cost down by using the same looms on a few different models

also i've noticed your air filter is right above your exhaust manifold and im sure that wont help your engine as your taking in hot air you should try re-route somewhere it can get a cooler air supply
