How Do I Convert My 1.6 Back To A 1.6?

Recommended Posts

309andy

ive looked at the engine on my 205 and its definetely a 1.9.

i was wondering what do i need to do to convert it back to a 1.6?

eg. will all the wiring connect up to the 1.6 engine?

can i use the current afm with a 1.6?

its a bosch and the code is 0280202106

thanks in advance to anyone who can help

Just out of curiosity - why do you want to convert back is the engine tired?

Loom will be fine, you will need to change the ecu ( if it is a 1.9 one, which I don't know), afm and injectors (if they are yellow ones at the mo).

partly yeh, the engine has an oil leak from somewhere and it is a bit rattly from the bottom end above 4000rpm,

also, im insured through the garage for a pittance but it limits me to a 1.6 hence why i wanted a 1.6 205.

also, im already half way to losing my license and getting done for driving wihout insurance due to the engine would be a tad annoying

If you came through on the main road to Harleston you couldnt miss the house with all the Pugs out side! not seen many other 205s about here though!

i dont remember seeing a gathering of pugs but i was concentrating on the road as i had no idea where i was going really,

theres a garage in leiston that always has at least half a dozen 205 gti's parked outside, and theres a lecturer at otley college with a 1.6 graphite gti, and theres a customer from work who has a 1.9 gti, and my mate who lives in harleston has a graphite gti the same as mine, i think they're all the ones im aware of locally
