CHRISWB 3 Posted April 18, 2010 (edited) l just wanted to know what you all thought would be better, l was going to remove my 1.9 8v and uprate most of the internals but don't really know what sort of power l would get, although l have been toying with the idea of putting a mi16 engine in, what do you think??? bobob 0 Posted April 18, 2010 My advice would be to have a quick search on the forum. I think this may have been covered before Also, your post text is quite large, may be an idea to reduce the size slightly

damien 22 1 Cars Posted April 18, 2010 mi would be the cheapest bang for bucks but if your looking to keep the value of the car the good old 8v is the way to go

Baz 421 Posted April 18, 2010 Originality, competition regs/usage may denote sticking with the 8v. Bang for buck, the Mi will be easier and better value in the long run, although it really does depend what you want to use it for. As said though, search and you shall discover many similar discussions!
blessed6383 0 Posted April 18, 2010 i've always gone for the mi's, not slating the 1.9 as is a cracking motor and puts out good bhp but the mi is cheap easy power but is more revvy than the 8v's think its a case of personal taste really but like damien said it will probably hold its valve better being an 8v
Baz 421 Posted April 18, 2010 ...not slating the 1.9 as is a cracking motor and puts out good bhp... They can, but they don't usually.
Death_Machine 0 Posted May 8, 2010 mi for me, some ask is it turbo'ed my repli no its got the 16v kick!
timb1046 1 Posted May 8, 2010 deffo get an MI the 1.9 although upgradable is no where near as upgradable as the MI. and the MI has more power as standard. upgrading an engine causes extra strain etc. on all the parts. so putting in an engine kicking out more bhp as standard means that the engine will be more reliable
