Hi there is an mi16 engine with 98k loom and ecu cheap at 350?

I gave £500 for a mi with gearbox, ecu. Loom and all axillaries, manifolds. Everything out of a 205 to do a conversion.

 

Without paper work to back up the clams of mileage (although at 98K if it has not had a rebuild its dew for one) I would be dubious.

 

After having the engine running for the last 18 months I am very happy with it. I would say that what I gave for it is right up the top end of what I would give for a used, undocumented engine and was a gamble. Having said that buying and second hand engine is a gamble.

as said, nearly all mi's without proof of a rebuild, especially around 98k are "dew" one soon!

 

I was lucky with all the mi's I bought.

 

I had a complete 405 for £250 (still mot'd and taxed )

I also had a bx gti engine, box and loom (same as mi16) for £150 (essentially everything that came out of the car)

Personally i wouldnt pay more than £400 for an engine without proof of work, so £350 isnt too bad!

Where is this engine for sale?

 

If it's ebay then treat it as completely unknown.

 

There is a trading section on here, you'll be much safer with that IMO, Anthony has a good Mi16 engine for sale.

Could work out expensive if your going to have to rebuild it? Depends on how its being sold like others have sad paperwork is a must and seeing it running before vehicle removal is always good, without those assurances your probably not going to want to go to the effort of putting it in only to have problems later........

That's not a bad price if it's essentially everything you need to put it in a 205, minus gearbox. Try and find out from the seller if they know when it was last run.

Exactly, so i'd say it's cheap. These engines in decent order are getting harder and harder to find, therefore worth more.
