Boot Light

My interiour boot light doesn't work anymore, it used to flicker as boot reached fully open but doesn't anymore. I thort it mite be the switch that turns the light on when boot is opened but I can't find a switch or anything anywhere.... How does the light no when the boot is open and could it be anything else if not this? Please help as it's bugging me.
