205 Turbotechnics

Recommended Posts

Hi guys and gals just looking for a bit of advice at the minute, currently I own a 205 Mi16,its standard interior, exterior and i use it everyday, the problem is that it does no more than 250 miles to a full tank(£55 of v-power) and I think its too nice to strip out and track.

I want another car but still a 205 so I ask you, what sort of mpg would you get from an turbotechnics???surely off boost it would do around 30mpg-35mpg??

And does anyone here who uses their car everyday get annoyed with having a car with no interior???

Any advice welcome

Lewis

Good fuel economy from a petrol turbo?!? HA HA HA. Sorry. But if you are thinking of changing to a turbocharged petrol 205 to save money on fuel you are thinking in the wrong direction......

Get your Mi16 sorted out, as running properly it should see the 30-35mpg you mention.

I'd be very surprised if a turbo car would beat the Mi16 for economy. In fact I'll go as far as saying it just won't beat it. The Mi16 is much newer with proper management, the TT is rather agricultural.

An Mi16 205 should do the same if not better MPG as the 405 the engine came out of unless:

A. it's not running right

B. it's been tweaked

No interior would probably be a bit annoying for a daily commute...keep the Mi and get the bus to work...

I do, sitting on the floor makes it really hard to see out of the windscreen :D

My daily driver curretly has 1 bucket seat, door cards and dashboard that's it. No carpet radio nothing and it doesn't bother me in the slightest obviously it won't stay with just 1 seat I just haven't got around to sorting it yet. My gti6 205 can see upto 39mpg if driven right.

My turbo 205 is very economical but that is more down to the gearing being lengthened at the top as the extra torque will allow it
