Central Locking

Hey iv got a g reg xs 205 and would like to fit central locking, i know this has kinda been half covered in various places but is there a real step by step tutioriral on here or something like that. If anyone has the knowledge it would be great to here. And to know what i will need to fit it. Do i just need the motors or do i need a new wiring loom, or even a centeral locking sort of brain box (that i think iv heard of). Anyway thanks

Just buy a central locking kit from maplins. They are about £20 and easy to fit.

Or just check in the doors as the looms may already be there?

Ooo cool the maplin ones looks good, anyone had any experiance of fitting this to a 205??

Yes I fitted one to my first 205. They are fairly easy to fit, its just time consuming feeding the wiring through the doors and behind the dash etc.

just thought id utter a word of warning, i bought a cheap kit off ebay similar to maplins style units, fitting was pretty straight forward, all of the bolt holes matched the solonoids already. however after 3 months they only work occasionally. pretty sure the drivers door solonoid is faulty as it has some electrical contacts to sense when u lift the catch manually. might be worth trying to get a more expensive kit
