1.9 8v Engine Oil And Water Mixing

Hi please reply asap lads, as im buying a 205 gti 8valve lovely car here but oil and water are mixing. head gasket was done so i assume liners are upset, but how big a problem is this to fix

Liner seals are cheap and not difficult to change, it is just all the other s*it you will have to move to get to them.

 

Head off. Sump off. Big end caps off. Pistons and rods out. Then you will be able to lift the liners out.

 

Then replace the seals, hone the liners, fit new pistons rings, and put it all back.

Sounds a daft question, but what evidance do you have that the oil and water are mixing?

 

I mean, is it visable in the header tank, white blobs on the dipdtick etc etc?

Long shot but you havent got one of the heat exchangers (water oil cooler) on it have you?
