trust me (and most people on here) they're only just up to base model spec, let alone gti bars, now where's that DOH smiley gone?

I ditched mine for some used high spec o.e 306 dampers which happen to be the same part number as 1.9 ones and they were a world apart, so much more stable!

Whats better out of the Bilstien B4's or Gaz rear shocks would you say?

If it's lowered then some Xsara or ZX B6 rear Damper's, As said the B4's are a downgrade on std Pug dampers by around 20% I would say and on par with base model one's. I've spoken to ECP about it but they don;t seem intrested to do any thing.

I'd get some decent mount's for the seats to, the std points are weak to say the least, Even a bar that run's across the front helps loads as no doubt you found it can be wobble'd around by hand.

I remember (Old member) Martin W having the front mount break at Combe and ending up on his back in the back

Are those GKN shafts? As they are being supplied like this which is no good now, The amount I've replaced is silly

Also if the engine's tilted, Untilt it as this doesn;t help the shafts either

Id go Gaz rears over the Black Billies every time, but as you know you get what you pay for with most things

but definatly suspension IMHO..

Black Bilstein rear dampers with the part number BNE-1931 are only fit for the bin, even when they are brand new they are worse than 20 year old Peugeot ones. Also the bushes in the black bilsteins fail fairly badly after not very long which makes them even worse.

I though I would update on the progress with the 205

Ive got a few things still to do. Ditch the PAS, Cage, LSD but its coming along nicely now :( Should get it on the track in the next few weeks B)

Here are some pics and the bits ive had done

Rebuilt engine by Carl at CG cars

and the following bit and bobs done by my local machanic

New brake lines all round and racing fluid

GTI6 discs, pads, and calipers

406 coupe MC

Group N engine mounts

Gaz coilovers

Excentric top mounts running around 2.75deg of negative camber

309 gti lower arms and driveshafts

Some cheap OMP buckets and harnesses

Car is great fun to drive just a few bits and bobs and its should be a great car :(

That T16 was mega! I wondered about the door cards because of the speaker covers looking different to early 205 square ones.

Looks great Jamie!! - Don't ditch the PAS rack, just remove everything from it for a cheap simple quick-rack, Pas items are 3.2turns instead of 3.8 or so! :D

On a side note, i see you have an Evo5 now, what happened to the 9? How do you find the 5 for reliability/servicing, are they really as expensive as people like to make out?

Yeah baz I sold the evo 9 and bought the evo 5 and new clio 200 with the money

TBH i suppose its like any older car. You just need to look a little harder for the good ones. It was the 2nd one I went to see and was happy with it as the previous owner had just had it forged and the rest of it was straight

Ive then had some bits and bobs done to it to take it to around 500hp. Just waiting to get it on the RR to confirm but it should be there or abouts.

Tbh they aint that bad to run unless you want to use it every day where the mpg is horrific. 2 services a yr (8-9,000miles) will cost you about £90 for AYC fluid changes and the rest you can do youself ie oil change etc. It would cost about £400-£500 for a dealer like Xtreme-UK to do a couple of services on one

CIMG2844-vi.jpg

On the 205 i planed to ditch the PAS. Could I keep the current just remove the fluids etc? No idea how I would do that lol

Ive got it on a track day through the MLR later in the month so will see how it goes against a load of evo's :D

Strong old cars those Evo's

But keep the rack and ditch everything else as Baz has said, you could fit the old Xsara rack 2.5 lock to lock but the U/J is a bugger going into the cabin and coloum.

Having a quick look at your engine bay pic, I'd ditch the fuel pump cut off switch as if you hit a kerb etc it will kill the engine, It should have been removed unpon install really like a few of the other sensor's.

Removing the stuff from the Pas rack, you need to remove all the pipe work the pump and the ram attached to the rack.

Love the evo! How do you find the clio 200?

The clio is fantastic buddy. Handling for a car out the box is fantastic. Only think is I think it could easily do with an extra 30/40hp and its dosnt feel all that quick at times.

Great car to do everything I need it to. TBH these new small hatches (clio's/Corsa etc) are alot bigger than they used to be I can live with it day to day
